Don Sullivan Dog Training Reviews: Don Sullivan’s “Perfect Dog” Command Collar is basically a plastic prong collar. A DVD and a whole lot of hype are included. There’s even an infomercial, apparently, which I would probably know if I were watching TV. The Command Collar is available in two sizes and can be adjusted for necks as small as 5″ and as large as 24″ It can also be bought on Amazon for cheap via TV and also on the website as part of a training kit. When I first saw this collar in the thrift store, I mistook it for a Good Dog Collar. Another plastic pinch collar is the Healthy Dog Collar, actually being sold as the Pro Training Collar by Starmark.
Another plastic pinch collar is the Healthy Dog Collar, actually being sold as the Pro Training Collar by Starmark. The Command Collar has the advantage of being easier to put on the dog because it has an actual clasp, while each time the Starmark Pro Training Collar has to have the link forcibly separated.
Having properly identified my plastic prong as a Command Collar, I felt the need to examine the “Perfect Dog” method of training that goes with it. The first thing I saw was a lot of hype, along with the statement that for every dog, handler, and situation on the planet, this system works. As a failure on the part of the handler, this broad assertion helps the seller to shrug off any concerns or lack of success.
