Dominique Ducharme Salary: Dominique Ducharme, former ice hockey player and current interim coach of the Montreal Canadiens National Hockey League, is Dominique Ducharme. According to Pierre LeBrun, a TSN Hockey Insider, the Montreal Canadiens paid Dominique Ducharme a week ago for the provisional Head Coaching duties. Last week the Habs, who have lost five games, fired the head of the division north, Claude Julien. LeBrun notes Ducharme’s contract still ends the season, but “Montreal thought it advisable to increase Ducharme from his assistant coach’s salary.”
Ducharme’s first season with the Mooseheads saw the team finish 6th overall in the QMJHL and the Maritimes Division finish second in the semifinals of the President’s Cup. In 2012-13, the NHL’s top prospects, Nathan MacKinnon and Jonathan Drouin, Ducharme and the Mooseheads went 58-6-3-1, scoring 347 goals and only 176 goals against.
Halifax lost only one game in the 2013 President’s Cup playoffs to capture its first QMJHL crown in team history. With automatic entry to the 2013 Memorial Cup, the Mooseheads defeated the Portland Winterhawks 6-4 to win their first Memorial Cup title and become the third straight QMJHL team to win the tournament in as many years.
